Just a thought, but you could do a pseudo-webservices type thing using
<cfhttp> and WDDX packets.

I haven't had much experience with .net, but I'd imagine there would be some
kind of WDDX library available for it.

Of course, if only need to pass small amounts of non-critical data around,
then a cookie would be a lot less complicated.
