Yes, you need to vote for a venue, read the FAQ on the page for how the venues are chosen. You can suggest one for the future. We used the meetup.com interface just to simplify setting this up. If it takes off we may well just fix a venue and do it ourselves (maybe in the Australian Museum). If you don't want a venue with a dress code then vote for another. We will be publishing the notes from the meetings in case there is not enough interest in other cities. I don't want to keep this OT going annoying anyone not interested.
