Hi all,

I've seen this question come up a few times and now can't find the answer in the archives...

What is the best way to allow my CF 5.0 Server to view directory listings and write files to network volumes that have been mounted on the server? This is running under Win 2000 Server.

2 options seem to be available to me:
Allow the account that Cold Fusion runs under the ability to view network volumes.
Change the account that Cold Fusion runs under to one that can access network volumes.

I tried changing the account CF runs under, but it was giving me server errors until I made that account part of the Administrators group. That sounded dangerous to me.. is it?

I also tried playing with the security policies for the SYSTEM account, but nothing seemed to work.

I was simply trying to view a directory listing, viewing 'C:' drive worked fine, but when I changed it to try and view 'O:' drive, it wouldn't work. No error, it was just returning no records from the CFDIRECTORY.

Thanks for any help, seeya!
