Just trying to play devil's advocate for a bit there... I use Apache myself, but I don't expect everyone who runs a website to have the time or the inclination to use it for exactly those reasons.
Same argument for using linux or windows as the server OS. The cost of investing in learning how to use it to a level where you're comfortable with it in a production environment may well outweigh any benefits gained, but we'd probably better not open up that can of worms or we'll never get any work done.
