The problem might be that the .NET webservice that you are trying to access is using proprietary MS enhancements to XML making it inaccessible to anything other than a .NET consumer.
You might also find that you are encountering a webservice that doesn't work with the version on AXIS that ships with CFMX. AXIS is the webservices implementation that comes with CFMX, you can learn more about it here:

The implementation of AXIS has been updated -- but you're unlikely to see this update in CFMX until Updater3 (which is due out soon).
