Hi Steve,

This is based on the numbers when added and subtracted to be a derivative of 9 eg

9,18,27,36,45,54,63,72,81

then all these numbers have the same symbol. Tricky hey :-)

Also the symbols vary based on the page refresh, but if you check the symbols they are still the same for the numbers 9,18,27,36,45,54,63,72,81 it is only the 90's numbers that are incorrect, but you can never get to choose from these so it doesnt matter.

Tricky, but a simple maths pattern. Try doing a search on the web for mathematic tricks and patterns.
