Adam suggested having a tag write a little batch file to run the FTP from the command line. He very kindly sent me the tag he wrote that creates this batch file, and I have run the batch file manually on my job and it worked. So I think that's the way I'm going to do it.
As always, I'm most grateful to this group for the help!
