I've done that but the datasource won't verify.  Set up a system DSN through
the ODBC control panel.  Created a data source in cf admin (ODBC socket),
chosen the DSN I just created.  It wont verify.  All I;m trying to do is use
an excel spreadsheet as a datasource.

I have done it before and I'm sure I used a connection string.

MX does not support connection sptring, so you will have to create a system
DNS entry and use that to connect to the excel file.
