The book isn't worth looking at but it is worth buying over and over again. Seriously though, it is aimed at someone new to CF with no prior experience.
No plans for a second at the moment. If you are looking for CF stuff there is a book called Discovering CFCs by Hal Helms which is alright. Not too big either 160 pages. IMHO it IS worth the look (I personally like his writing style - it made good sence to me!) but I hit the boundaries of it (CFC's etc) a while ago (4 months into CF origionally from ASP) (HEY BM: hint for a follow up book, eh?) is there a later edition? I think the edition I used was hot off the presses at the time. just my 2c barry.b PS: no this isn't a paid ad or compassion for someone with the same first name! -----Original Message----- From: Peter Mount [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, 23 June 2003 12:26 PM To: CFAussie Mailing List Subject: [cfaussie] CF MX book and webhosting Hello I just bought the book "Macromedia ColdFusion MX" by Eric Ladd (QUE Books). Is the book by Barry Moore ("ColdFusion MX from Static to Dynamic in 10 step") worth looking at? For MX hosting I had a look at CrystalTech at: http://www.crystaltech.com/default.htm. Are there any other web hosts I should look at? I'm looking at overseas hosts to keep my costs down i.e. to develop a web site with sample ColdFusion pages to show to prospective clients. Initially I'm looking at using Access 2000 as a backend but I'll look at the open source RDBMS's later on. Thanks.
