SAFile actually acts like an FTP client and streams the data to the server,
which is why it can do that

Hi Geoff,

The system currently uses CFFILE and the site is with Web Central. The
client is uploading very large files and they are timing out on the server.
Web Central informed the actual developer (I am helping out as he is an ASP
thing) to use SAFile as it can handle files of the size they are uploading.

I would much prefer to use CFFILE. Nice and easy in the long run.

Got link to this object?  Any reason why you are not looking to use CFFILE?
