am pretty sure you can only do that from the page which opened the window.
This is because its the browser that has given the window the name and knows
what it is. Any other page will not know whar newWin referes to.
You may have to do it via the window its self
window.open("myPage.html","newWin");
newWin.close();

Subject: [cfaussie] [OT] JS close window
Easy question...
I open a new window like
newWin = window.open(...... etc.
Then on a different page I would like to close this new window, should the
folling not do this?
window name.close() i.e. newWin.close()
??
It is not working, am I missing something?
Cheers.
