Definitely it can be done.  It's what Spectra does for instance.  You 
might have trouble unless you use the same application name for both 
CFAPPLICATION tags -- just guessing.  In any event a peek at the 
CFA_APPLICATIONINITIALISE tag in Spectra should reveal all.

I was under the impression that that you specifically were'nt able to do

I can remember something coming up a few years ago and there was a
resounding 'one cfapplication tag only' response.

Is there any pressing reason to have it split into 2 tags and not just put
all the attributes into a single tag?
