I
don't think you CAN'T get http_remote_addr but the problem is only getting a
proxy/gateway address from many users at the same place. I mean, how can you
tell the diff between Fred, Barney, Wilma or Betty if they all work at
Bedrock.com?
cheers

Subject: [cfaussie] Collecting remoteIP and any restrictionsHi all,I am collecting a viewers IP address and storing it as a session variable to assist in tracking on a site I am working on. I have all the code working properly, collecting the remote IP, checking to see if it exists then setting the session and all the locks. What I was wondering, is there any way that a viewer can block or hide their IP address from being collected by the server? If so, should I use a cfcatch, cftry combination and if the session can not be set, create a generic issued one just for the system, then alter the code so they can not use some of the features of the site.Hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance,Blake-----------------------------------------------Blake FossWeb Applications Developer(p) +1 415 425-0453 (USA)(p) + 61 410 747-620 (Australia)Resume site: www.webfoot.com.auPersonal site: www.touristrevolution.com---
