Hey all, I'm sure this is really simple... I'm trying to get a site to email me whenever a Cold Fusion error occurs. I had a look around for a way to do this and found this fairly dodgy method which involves writing the error details to a form then using JavaScript to submit the form to a page which actually does the email... This breaks in a number of ways: the user doesn't have javascript, or the error text contains characters that upset the HTML formatting of the form.
I believe the reason it was done this way is because you are limited with the CF commands you can use in the error handler page. Does anyone know a better way to do this? This is CF 5.0 by the way. Thanks, bye! P.S. It took a while for me to choose a subject line for this that would get past the 'away mail bounce' filter! It doesn't like the words 'email' and 'error' in the subject line. ----------------------- Ryan Sabir Newgency Pty Ltd 2a Broughton St Paddington 2021 Sydney, Australia Ph (02) 9331 2133 Fax (02) 9331 5199 Mobile: 0411 512 454 http://www.newgency.com/index.cfm?referer=rysig ===8<===========End of original message text=========== ----------------------- Ryan Sabir Newgency Pty Ltd 2a Broughton St Paddington 2021 Sydney, Australia Ph (02) 9331 2133 Fax (02) 9331 5199 Mobile: 0411 512 454 http://www.newgency.com/index.cfm?referer=rysig --- You are currently subscribed to cfaussie as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] MX Downunder AsiaPac DevCon - http://mxdu.com/
