I use this temp file all the time. write test code or work on THE file and hit F12. Mind you, this only works after you define the site (and we've been having issues with the local/remote/testing across a firewall)... I do miss VisualStudio.NET, though....floating toolbars? yuck. they get in the way... $0.02 + GST barry.b -----Original Message----- From: Steve Onnis [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, 17 September 2003 3:42 PM To: CFAussie Mailing List Subject: [cfaussie] Dreamwaver MX (2004) Just thought I would voice my issues with Dreamweaver MX The last version of DW i used was DW4, which I thought was not to bad, but I am finding from a coding side of things that the code interface is pertty average to say the least, and even some of the past functionality of PRE DWMX is either no longer there, or I cant find it. First thing is keyboard short cut. For along time now I have been using Ctrl+3 to insert a ##, but now DWMX insert a <h3></h3>. I think I spent about half an hour trying to work out how to change it, but couldnt. It seems that if the shortcut has already been assigned to the system you cant change it. Second thing is code previews. You can no longer preview code within the application. All page previews happen in an external browser which i find a pain in the bum. In addition to that, you can not preview code unless its from a saved file. There is an option for DWMX to create a tmp file for previews, but am pretty sure that it happens across the board, even for saved files which I would want to be previewing the actual file and not a copy of it. The next main thing is the interface for adding elements to the page. What happened to the floating elements tool bar?? Takes twice aslong just to add a text field. Anyway Just my gripe Steve --- You are currently subscribed to cfaussie as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] MX Downunder AsiaPac DevCon - http://mxdu.com/ --- You are currently subscribed to cfaussie as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] MX Downunder AsiaPac DevCon - http://mxdu.com/
