just to confirm:

you're suggesting it's better to attach the gif's to the email because it
saves each email hitting your site to load up those gif's?

seems a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

lots of email lists block attachments by default, for security/virus
reasons. Lyris has this but I'm surprised CFAUSSIE has this turned off.

on the other hand, not everyone reads their email while online. They connect
with their client and download it, reading it at their leasure.

"all of the people some of the time" , perhaps?
