Nope.  A combo box (unfortunately) is not actually a HTML object.  It is a
Windows object that is placed in the correct location on the screen.

What you would need to do is look at a Javascript combo replacement (such
as the one found on http://webfx.eae.net).

There is a VERY convoluted way to avoid this - but it involves a top level
container frame, placing your page in a child frame with the same size as
the top container frame, placing your overlaying DIV's in the top
container frame, and calling javascript across the frames to hide and show
your DIV layer.

The only other thing I have seen (which is messy if you can partially see
the Combo box - which is the case in your situation) is actually hiding
the combo box when you pop up the DIV.
