As far as I know the mail handling improvements in MX 6.1 were only for the Enterprise version - however, that does seem pretty slow, and it's a poor show if the Pro version has slower mail handling than previous versions.
We run pro but don't do too much mailing. I do recall there being some new mail options in 6.1 though along the lines of whether to spool mail or sent it directly - I don't have access to CF61 from home so I can't check and give you any more info.

We've only just upgraded this client to CFMX and one of the main reasons was the improvement in mail handling. I'm kind of in a tight spot explaining to him why the mail handling is worse so any advice would be appreciated.
