The difference between an IF statement and SWITCH statement is that at run time, ALL options are evaluated in an IF/ELSE IF where as a switch statement will "bust-out" as soon as a match is found. Therefore a switch "should" be quicker (unless the match occurs on the last test i guess). Pretty sure that rule applies for most programming languages. Don't see why CF would be any different. cheers, ____________________________ James Silva Web Production Gruden Pty Ltd Tel: +61 02 9956 6388 Fax: +61 02 9956 8433 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web: http://www.gruden.com ____________________________ --- You are currently subscribed to cfaussie as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] MXDU2004 + Macromedia DevCon AsiaPac + Sydney, Australia http://www.mxdu.com/ + 24-25 February, 2004
