unneeded complexity.

is there any point in multi-tiered archetecture for small sites? are there
some jobs where MVP patterns or Spikes' BATFINK* is way over the top?

I mean, people de-normalise database designs for the same reason...

Why wouldn't you use CFCs?
(If given the choice)

Can't think of many reasons beyond the above the normal 'not for html
output'.
