Hi Guys, Just after some info before I try this out for myself. I want to use some java classes on a remote machine. These classes are an api to another product, and we want to use them to write data into this system from a web front end. We would prefer to use the api rather than access the DB directly, as there are support issues with the vendor if we don't use their api.
What we are looking at doing is creating a mapping between our CF boxes (win2K) and the other machine (unix) using samba, add this path to the cf java class path, and use cfobject to use the classes. Firstly is this possible, and secondly, what are your experiences with doing this (if you have managed to do this)? This is one avenue we are looking at, other options we will look at doing to are writing java classes to use on our CF boxes that will talk remotely to the classes on the other server.
