why when I dump cgi in cfmx the key 'local_addr' doesn't show but is there
anyway.
The CGI scope is kinda magic... Initially only a few common CGI variables are passed from the web server to CF so dumping CGI only shows those, however if you request an 'uncommon' variable, CF effectively calls back to the web server (via the connector) to fetch the data. This reduces the amount of data traffic through the connector for the vast majority of requests.
Also where t\do my server custom headers hide in cf (I'm setting them in IIS5 and 6), but ther don't appear available in cf
Can't help you with that I'm afraid. Which version of CF are you using? Perhaps they can be accessed via the underlying Java HTTP Request object (in CFMX).
