You'll probably want to use "sudo" command...

See: http://www.aplawrence.com/Basics/sudo.html
Also for RH specifically: http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/security-guide/s1-wstation-privileges.html

If you goigle sudo RH8 you'll get plenty of help...

You'll want to give access to /sbin/service so that you can execute a "service coldfusion stop/start" etc..

Hi All

Just a quick one - is there any way to allow a user other than root to
start/stop the coldfusion service.

Redhat 8
CFMX 6.1

Many thanks

Cheers

Mark
