I happen to agree with you Taco. But there are so many people in the world that dont like to accept the dictionary definition of things and prefer to run with what they THINK something means rather than accept the official definition. Some will even be as bold to claim that by NOT accepting the official definition they are - in some small way - contributing to the modification of that official definition. While others still will site "common usage". The problem with this being that what is "common" to some may be "foreign" to others. It amazes me that "language" of any type - human, computer or other - works at all. It amazes me even more that we are able to translate from one representation to another (Human to Computer, Chinese to English, etc. etc.). That is why I love computing. It is the science of information management, and, in managing information you are also responsible for managing meaning. And meaning is everything. So..... maybe we should do away with the dictionary and just all go with what we think something means. Because, in the end, things only mean what we make them mean.
