A question for all you SQL gurus. I have a table full of referral URL's. A lot of them are similar with the only the url parameters being different. What I want to be able to do is retrieve the distinct values, and a count of each distinct value, of the URL only ie http://www.search.com/index.cfm instead of returning http://www.search.com/index.cfm?fish.
Is it possible for SQL (SQL 2000 Server) to do a find ( to find the ?) and then use what is to the left of the ? as the distinct URL. Am I making sense.
