I missed following the beginning of this but I think it is to do with
redirecting to a login page?

One alternative is to NOT redirect but to load the login page code as a
<CFINCLUDE> inside the Application.cfm and then use a <CFBORT> to stop it
going on to any other code.

If you are looking for a generic re-direct then anything that modifies the
HTML header (not the <html><head>) will probably cause issues.

You could generate a "blank" page with a META tag refresh to redirect to
the other page.
