I ended up posting to CFCDev (what was up with cfaussie? running SO slow)

Stupid me didn't think it add the output="no" on the funtion.

So the funtion itself was creating output.

Stuuupid me.

Least now I know better.

I'm surprised I didn't get it before - I tend to call funtions inline all the time.

Ah well.
