Taco

I get exactly the same problem here.
Its a combination of the mail server you're using and the way the Daemon lists work.
Our mail server here can best be described as 'dodgy' and will sometimes not accept mail very quickly.
The way the Daemon mail list server works is that if it can't deliver the message fairly quickly, it will que it up for later delivery.
This is the delay you are experiencing.
The delay is triggered by a short delay at your end, but the length of the delay is determined by when the Daemon list serve can get a 'fast' response from your mail server.

All these mail worms don't help with speedy mail delivery either.
Death to all virus writers!!!

Darren Tracey

Your best bet would be to email the admin of your SMTP server. If that's the problem and it's not gonna get fixed then you'll have to find another SMTP server (not easy) or use a news reader.

BTW have you tried emailing another address a number of times and testing the delay?

I'm talking about delays anywhere from 1 hour to 9 hours for my post to arrive back in my CFAUSSIE folder ;-))
Take my "RE: Sending ColdFusion Vars to a .exe" post for example, it was sent before the "Delay" post at 13:13 and arrived 25 minutes later..
