I think the config scripts ask you a series of questions and get you all set up... but I've always resorted to hacking my own together from howtos... The learning curve might be steep and if you want something NOW then it might not be much fun... call a friend with some linux skillz ;-)  It definately does external IPs though...

Shorewall at first instance looks like it does not have a GUI, is that correct?
I really need a GUI, I'm no network expert (although I know the basics) so I need something as simple as Smoothwall, it's setup was as easy as abc...
Also can someone confirm it allows multiple external IPs, before I dig further into it?

Are there any other options out there?

Yes, smoothwall uses iptables now (up until recently it used ipchains).

I use Shorewall, and it's fantastic, and yes, I believe it can handle multiple external IPs now.  It's tight, easy to configure, and works flawlessly!  I heartily recommend it.  But it all depends on your situation....

I believe that there are now' out of the box' versions that handle multiple IPs

I assume Smoothwall just uses a set of IPCHAINS or IPTABLES rules?

I'm looking for an Open source/Free firewall, I am currently running Smoothwall, and have been very happy with it, it's running on Linux, it's free, but it only works with one External IP.
So anyone know of a good package that allows you to work with more than one IP?

I believe IPCop is one, but not sure.
