Kay, Yep tried every setting we know local, machine name, IP (didnt try 127.0.0.1 though) etc. this is when the machine was initially setup - I did the install of MX - it ran fine first time up but since the rebuild -others reinstalled MX cannot get it hook into SQL Server
Thinking I may need to uninstall and reinstall MX Rob -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Kay Smoljak Sent: Saturday, 20 March 2004 10:19 To: CFAussie Mailing List Subject: [cfaussie] RE: Error setting up SQL SERVER Datasource Hi Rob, > Trying to get a datasource setup but keep getting this error message. > We are on a win 2000, SQL Server 2000, CFMX machine. <snip> > Connection verification failed for data source: harms > []java.sql.SQLException: SQLException occurred in JDBCPool I remember having heaps of problems getting SQL Server to talk to CFMX. Have you tried different settings for "Server" - ie, if it's the same box, try localhost, local, (local), 127.0.0.1, 10.0.0.whatever, the machine name, the 'real' IP etc. I just checked our dev server and it's using 127.0.0.1, but I had another one that needed the address to be "(local)".
