Kay,

Yep tried every setting we know  local,   machine name, IP  (didnt try
127.0.0.1 though) etc.  this is when the machine was initially setup - I did
the install of MX  - it ran fine first time up  but since the
rebuild -others reinstalled MX cannot get it hook into SQL Server

Thinking I may need to uninstall and reinstall MX

I remember having heaps of problems getting SQL Server to talk to CFMX. Have
you tried different settings for "Server" - ie, if it's the same box, try
localhost, local, (local), 127.0.0.1, 10.0.0.whatever, the machine name, the
'real' IP etc. I just checked our dev server and it's using 127.0.0.1, but I
had another one that needed the address to be "(local)".
