So you don't have SQL Server on the same box as the CF Server ? *************
Correct, the SQL Server is not on the box the Structured Storage File is stored. ************* Then I can't really see how you can call DTSRun on the CF Server (which is where CF is running) and have it execute something on a different box without some trickery. ************* Your my saviour once again, before I answered your following question I actually went and checked to see if DTSRun was installed on the machine it was called from, and it wasn't. I reckon might solve the issue ;-)) ************* Wouldn't you need to run DTSRun on the SQL Server box? It is something that is isntalled with SQL Server - and I guess it depends on the services running on the same box. Mind you - I dont do any of that sort of stuff. Having said that, the documentation in the SQL help files seems to indicate that DTSRun can take parameters that include a server name. Examples To execute a DTS package saved as a COM-structured storage file, use: dtsrun /Ffilename /Npackage_name /Mpackage_password To execute a DTS package saved in the SQL Server msdb database, use: dtsrun /Sserver_name /Uuser_nName /Ppassword /Npackage_name /M package_password To execute a DTS package saved in Meta Data Services, use: dtsrun /Sserver_name /Uuser_nrame /Ppassword /Npackage_name /M package_password /Rrepository_name You don't seem to be specifying that. I am guessing if you want to run it remotely you would have to store it in the database or in the meta data services and nominate the server to run it on.
