Carl,

This is something that I toyed with about 6 years ago, it was nice in theory
and for very small applications it can work great. My main thinking of this
was to stop people from stealing my code, however the main hurdle to get
over was the fact that this extra load on the server to go and download the
apps for every page hit was humongous.

I was happy to see the results for small sites that carry very little
traffic, but bigger sites came to a crawl with this method.

I like your late thinking on this, but already been looked at an was
considered non viable for an entire application but alright for one or two
tags.

Subject: [cfaussie] [OT] wrapper

Hello CFAussie,

What are your thoughts on this?

A security wrapper for you CF apps... now let me explain!

if you have ever downloaded an ebook (the .exe ones) most of them are just
html docs in a ebook wrapper

what about a downloadable wrapper that instead of being a compiled app it
actually pulls your web site from the net through the wrapper, which would
provide maybe extra security.

Let me know what your thoughts are and if anyone has ever done this before?

Best regards,
