The main challenge is that the accommodation providers would be indicating the number of rooms available for each specific room type their property has eg 20 1 bedrooms for 1-7-04 22; 15 1 bedrooms for 2-7-04; 5 2 bedrooms for 1-7-04; 8 2 bedrooms for 2-7-04 etc etc. The challenge is being able to determine that the availability does not over lap in other words the 2 bedroom apartment being booked for say 5 days needs to be sure that the specific apartment is vacant for each of the 5 days as rather than it being vacant for 3 days and the other 2 days the room available is in fact a different room requiring the guest to have to room move during their stay, something that would not be an option.
