Subject: [cfaussie] Online Booking Systems Using CF

I am looking to develop a comprehensive online booking system to
complement
my website where accommodation providers will be able to indicate room
availability for their property over 12 month period.

I am wondering if anyone has had experience in developing a similar
system
and if so could they please point me in the right direction.

I am find with most of the structure where why I simply have a booking
register and count the number of bookings for a specific room type
requested
across the dates requested and as long as the total number of bookings
in
the bookings register is less than total number of available rooms of
that
room type across those dates then clearly there is availability.

However !!!!

The main challenge is that the accommodation providers would be
indicating
the number of rooms available for each specific room type their property
has
eg 20 1 bedrooms for 1-7-04 22; 15 1 bedrooms for 2-7-04; 5 2 bedrooms
for
1-7-04; 8 2 bedrooms for 2-7-04 etc etc.

The challenge is being able to determine that the availability does not
over
lap in other words the 2 bedroom apartment being booked for say 5 days
needs
to be sure that the specific apartment is vacant for each of the 5 days
as
rather than it being vacant for 3 days and the other 2 days the room
available is in fact a different room requiring the guest to have to
room
move during their stay, something that would not be an option.

I look forward to your comments and contributions in this matter.

Kind Regards
