As all apps are using the same components, includes and modules, I have thought that instead of having say, four sites each with their own components, is having the components all within a central area and creating a mapping in cf to point to them. then createing component objects based on this mapping. This would then make it easier to update any components, as it is only to be done centrally.
Yes, that would be best practice (and it is actually fairly common practice).
I realise that there could be a load bearing issue if there were a high amount of sites using the CFC's, but none of the sites will have high usage for a while
I don't understand what your concern is here - why do you think there would be an issue?
