Hi all,
I'm building my site using CF6.1 in Windows using Access.
My local root folder is C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\sivf\
My testing server is C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\
My remote site is set up on another network drive running CF. Its
address is w:\sivf\
To access this, I type http://webserver/sivf/ into a browser.
On my local machine, all the pictures, css, etc work. On the remote
site, the pages come up but with no styles and no pictures.
Checking the properties on a pictures shows something like
http://webserver/images/headings/search_.gif
I believe it needs to be
http://webserver/sivf/images/headings/search_.gif in order to work,
which makes me think that the remote server looking at the wrong root
folder.
If I click a link on the page it can't find the linked page because the
address is missing the /sivf/ bit.
If I change manually insert the /sivf into the code in Dreamweaver, DW
will no longer display the images or code (although my local testing
server doesn't seem to care whether an images is /images/tst.gif or
/sivf/images/test.gif)
OK. What am I doing wrong?
Also, if there are golden rules for setting up sites locally and
remotely, this would be excellent knowledge. I can't find any meaningful
reference to this anywhere.
Many thanks,
Tom
