use CONVERT(VARCHAR,ColumnName) for the columns that are TEXT,NTEXT or IMAGE type columns.  When you do this you can't just go SELECT *, you will have to specify the columns names in your select statement

Subject: [cfaussie] Re: How can I remove duplicate records in SQL Server 2000?

One of the field type is ntext. When I do a SELECT DISTINCT SQL Server pops up an error "the text, ntext, or image data type cannot be selected as DISTINCT". How can I get over this?

How about using SELECT DISTINCT
