If you use an "indentity" field you wouldn't get two record ID's that are the same.

I think it is bad database design on your part for this to occur.

Yes, I can. But I don't want two records with same ID (and same value in all other fields).

Can you temporarily (or permanently) add an identity field to the table? That will give each record a unique id.

Subject: [cfaussie] How can I remove duplicate records in SQL Server 2000?

Hi,

Somehow I don't know what happened I've got duplicate records (two
records have same value in all fields including ID). I can't set primary
key since ID field is duplicated.

Could anyone tell me how to remove the duplicate record or merge two
duplicated records into one in SQL or CF?

Thanks,
George
