HI guys,

Now someone has raised the issue - what would be regarded as the minimum
spec and recommended spec for a Windows based machine running CFMX and
either SQL Server or MySQL.

Thanks

Rob

Sort of an awkward question. Are you using a "server" version of windows
? Do not quote me on this but apparently Windown 2003 Server is the ants
pants.

It can certainly be assumed that WinXp (either Home or Professional
Edition) is not suited for running a server.

At the same time it should be asked what sort of server you require. If
you are not too afraid to ask the "right" question you should be OK. Our
(my/your) problem is... Well take a deep breath...

Subject: [cfaussie] winxp

Hello CFAussie,

in regards to my question early this morning regarding the performance
of Windows XP, I have found that jrun.exe is going bezerk using 98% of
my resources and going to well over 495mb. Can anyone point me in the
right direction as to what I should check in my coding that may cause
these issues. This never happened with Windows 2K...

++
has anyone had any major hassles with Windows XP, the problem I am
experiencing is when I login to one of my recently built apps (CFMX 6.1,
Windows XP and MS SQL 2K..) I get passed the login screen and then the
next screen loads with the acceptance of a policy and when you hit
submit it takes about 12 mins just to get to the next page, and all it
has got is some small pics (4 x 12kb) and a pdf (23kb)in an
Iframe...(this worked super in Windows 2K..) but now not so good.

Best regards,
