Each instance consumes about 100Mb of RAM (under Windows) so yes heaps of
RAM is recommended.

On my home PC I have a production, development and test instance of CFMX
6.1/Jrun 4/Flex and Flash Comm Server 1.5 with SQL Server 2000 - but still
flies.

Subject: [cfaussie] Multiple Instance of CF

Hello CFAussie,

Just want to get some thoughts on having multiple instances of CFMX on a
server, the good the bad the ugly...

My Host seems to shy away from it (virtual server), he said that
hyperthetically it would use more memory per instance and I would have to
get lots and lots of ram to cope...

Would it be more for a virtual host or if you had your own cluster of
servers?

Thanks :)

Best regards,
