The anticipation of what might be required sounds like a good excuse for an
upgrade anyway.
You would be pleasantly surprised at how much faster some new hardware would
run with your current software in comparison to the specs you listed below.
(and one would assume that you would definitely be ready for blackstone).

If you can afford it, an upgrade every 2 years gives the impression of "how
did I ever cope with that slow old hardware"?
