Yo dude, AS> Without going into a legal battle this is to prove my point? Where are your AS> getters and setters in this bit of code? So that means the development of
I believe Sean already said that this was bad code. Yes there are no getters and setters, and so it is easy to see the many ways it could break if it were to be used in a real project. AS> They would not be hired because they don't follow the buzz word of the day AS> company standard!! I hardly think 'company standard' is a buzzword. If I set a standard that I expected my programmers to follow, and they didn't use it without a good reason.. yeah that would be grounds for disciplinary action (somewhere between a slap on the wrist and dismissal). AS> You wonder why I am a little upset over this, you can preach one thing in AS> one breath but actual code says another thing!! It sounds like you are accusing Sean of writing the code in question... a lot of code comes out of MM, I'm sure if you looked hard enough you'd find even worse examples of bad code. I'd hate for someone to go through all the code that's come out of my company, find a bad bit of code, and blame me for its suckiness... AS> NOTICE THE PUBLIC VARIABLES, this breaks your recommendations for what was AS> that word again oh yeah accessor/mutator or how to write robust code what is AS> so robust about this. It breaks when I pass it a negative value at AS> development time, which is what I have been trying to point out? You've just pointed out why we should be using accessors / mutators... which is what this original thread was about no? So we are all agreed now? Accessors / mutators are a GOOD thing. And from yesterday's post... AS> I'll leave it at that:-) We could only wish... ----------------------- Ryan Sabir Newgency Pty Ltd 2a Broughton St Paddington 2021 Sydney, Australia Ph (02) 9331 2133 Fax (02) 9331 5199 Mobile: 0411 512 454 http://www.newgency.com/index.cfm?referer=rysig --- You are currently subscribed to cfaussie as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Aussie Macromedia Developers: http://lists.daemon.com.au/
