ps. Apologies for the cfug-wa cross post...

pps. The links are 'live' so I'm assuming the announcement has been made...

==========================================================================

As you may or may not know, the Flash team has spent the past couple of
months working on a second updater to Flash MX 2004. Code-named
Ellipsis, the update will bring Flash up to version 7.2. The English
version of the update will be released late Monday night / early
Tuesday morning (Eastern Time -4 UTC) (non-English versions will be
released in the next couple of weeks). Please do not discuss or release
any of this information until the Macromedia website has been updated
with the information below.

The update focuses on a number of key areas:

-Performance / Stability / Resource Usage
-Usability (fixing a lot of little annoying issues)
-Components
-Documentation

In addition, Ellipsis includes the following:

-A Scrollbar component
-A JSFL File API
-An EventDelegate class
-Two complete sample projects
-ASO Cache Cleaning Commands (available from the Macromedia Exchange)

At the bottom of this email is a snippet from an article that will go
live on Macromedia.com, which describes some of the updates and
changes. I have also included a complete list of issues addressed in
Ellipsis (also at the bottom).

You will be able to find more information as well as download Ellipsis from: http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/special/7_2updater/

We will also be releasing a number of new articles on the Macromedia Flash Developer Center.
