Also you could try turning on debugging for the DataDirect SequeLink
Server

It might help trying to work out what exactly is causing the problem. If
you are verifying the datasource via cf administrator it more then likely
is not a connection timeout issue. We had to extend our connection timeout
to 60 seconds here for the data source to verify, but I had no problems
running queries on the db ???
