Novell has published the groupwise API so it's possible to roll your own solution from scratch but that's a path I'd rather not go down if at all possible.
Your best hope is to look to standard interfaces that groupwise might present: POP, IMAP and LDAP. All of these are well supported under CF. Failing that I think you're really looking to their API.
