Subject: [cfaussie] Reminder: NSW CFUG Tomorrow Night...

Hi one and all, just a quick reminder that the Sydney CFUG is on again
tomorrow night, details are as follows:

What?
Event: NSW CFUG

Who?
Presenter: Robin Hilliard (we've got him back for more)

Subject: I, REbot (AKA Elegant Regular Expressions)

Details:

How often have you followed a long thread on text processing in
ColdFusion that finishes with some smug bastard showing how 40 lines of
finds, mids, lefts, rights and loops can be reduced to a single,
elegant regular expression? When you write regular expressions, do you
have some idea of what you're doing, or do you just hold down the shift
key and let your cat walk across the top of the keyboard?

Here's your opportunity to loose the cat and join the ranks of smug
bastards everywhere as Sydney CFUG delves into the whys and wherefores
of regular expressions. We cover the basics and the main tricks (there
are about 2) of RE writers, using two useful examples: a VCard parser
and a screen scraper for a travel booking site. We'll also show you a
handy free tool for developing and testing REs.

Where?
Red Square, 49 Greek Street, Glebe (behind the Broadway shopping
centre, close to bus, trains, parking, helipad??)

When?
Tuesday, 17 August, 5.30pm (food) for 6pm start (presentation),
remember that we now finish at 7pm - plenty of time for a chin wag
afterwards.

PRIZES???
Yep, for sure, we're on the lookout for new presenters and we've got
two great ColdFusion books (one signed by a co-author) to give away to
the next guest presenter, this could be you if you want to present 21
September... And there's heaps of other neat stuff for future
presenters to earn in exchange for talking to their fellow CFUGers.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Andrew
NSW CFUG Manager
