The logic part of the system would need to connect not only to
my front end, but also to any number of other systems.

These systems would be using webservices to connect any way.

They have asked for the front end to be moved to a separate box
as an extra precaution in case the server goes down. If our front
end goes down, we don't want to take out any system that is still
connected to the logic.

I understand that if the logic goes, then its all screwed anyway,
but that extra step makes them happy.

I really have no choice in doing it. it has to happen, i just need some
input on the best ways to do it. Any traps to watch out for. and any
security measures that you can point out before i start typing.

At this stage, cost is no option. But they have stopped short at a
flex license. (which may be largely due to a timing issue, with
redeveloping the entire front end.)

Does that clear up my position any?
thanks,
Ricardo.

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

I have been asked to move my presentation to a different physical server.
Since the majority (ex some laziness) of my code is in CFC's i am thinking
that i can do it simply enough by invoking them as WebServices.

Leaving me with 3 physical servers for my application. the data, the logic
and the presentation.

Is this a good / logical / possible solution?

Can anyone give me any pointers on where to look for more info?

TIA

Ricardo.
