Yeah I only just realised that!

You could use the coldfusion factory service to check to see if a
datasource exists before you run an application (e.g. for use with an
installer web-app or something similar). If you do a search on
ColdFusion Factory and Datasource I am sure you will find some
"documentation" somewhere. It is a feature that is not supported
officially by Macromedia..
