I can vouch for that. if it wasn't for the networking at the local CFUG, I 
wouldn't have my job here.

Sure doing it this way is a bit hit'n'miss but as everyone has been saying, you 
have to put a few irons in the fire to get results.

This is going to sound like I'm beating my own drum here, but your local
CFUG meetings are a great place to tell the local developers and dev
companies that you are looking for work. I've known quite a few people
(myself included) that have been hooked up with employers in a non interview
situation at the Brisbane CFUG meetings and end up being employed out of the
deal. Its no guarantee, but its probably worth a shot.

Fortunately for you the next Brisbane CFUg meeting is on next Wednesday (1st
Dec) at our regular location at Bowen Hills.
