Hi Barry,

Verity engine has a limitation of 64,000 elements (rows times columns). If this number is exceeded, Verity throws an error and ColdFusion simply returns an empty result set

while weve been having a bit of grief with verity, we do have collections that index lots or records (20+ cols times many thousands of rows), seemingly without issue.

can anyone confirm that the 64k element limit is actually real? they have actually hit this number as a brick wall?

If you remember my post of a few weeks back regarding the communityguide site and its need for massive collections, the actual number was 460K rows in the database at the time (its got bigger since then <g>). Verity just flagged that the size was over the allowable limit for the CF license and did indeed return an empty record set.

AFAIK the limit is rows in the database ("documents" as they put it), no connection to total matrix size in terms of licensing and no error seen in the literal sense.
