I have done it a few times by copying my coldfusion directory
({jrunroot}/servers/{serverName}/cfmx) to a new server instance and then simply
delete all the files in the cfclasses directory.
({jrunroot}/servers/{newServername}/cfmx/WEB-INF/cfclasses/*)This will deploy a new instance with all the updates and settings applied. Jason Sheedy Senior Web Developer Voice International Limited www.voice.com.au
